Excluding your rent, you’ll find living expenses on Roatan are approximately $300 to $750usd per month. Obviously, this depends on how much you eat and drink. Roatan has a busy social scene if you are that way inclined, but it does not offer the party to dawn every night lifestyle of Utila! It is a little bit more laid back with midnight usually being when the bars close. Most of the residents are thankful they don’t have to listen to banging music from multiple competing bars until the early hours of the morning. To give you a rough idea of daily costs on the island, a beer costs $1.50 to $2.50 although in some of the resorts they can be over $5! Soft drink $1to $2. Breakfast $3-5, Lunch $5-$10 and dinner between $7-$20, It is easy to spend way more than these averages if you choose to eat at the more upscale restaurants catering to visiting tourists who are only here for a 1 week stay. Here is a link to one of the best and more expensive restaurants Roatan Oasis showing you the kind of price at an upscale restaurant.  As a PADI pro in training you would enjoy a 15% discount on these prices.
